This is a commercial fuel station inside the Kawaihae port. You need a Big Island Energy account to purchase fuel here. Individuals can get accounts but it it is a credit application and they bill you for your purchase monthly.

this is not a regular gas station it looks like for commercial vehicles behind a fence doesn't look like they have card readers some kind of local thing for the marina. I guess you can go in there and try to figure out how to get gas but I just like to go to a gas station not try to talk them into selling me gas.
Good customer service
when you absolutely positively must get gas be glad this is within walking distance of home. I admittedly don't frequent the station a lot but time to time and glad it's here in the village. our days of being a lonely outpost in the middle of a lava field seem numbered now though. but with more volume or competition maybe prices will go down a smidge at least.
FYI: Currently only dispenses 87 (regular) gas.
