Kensington Service Center in Kensington (3794 Howard Ave)

An excellent service group for all vehicles, from commuter and family cars to hot-rods and restoration projects.

Classic small-town corner station locally owned & operated since 1926, situated just steps from the Antique Row. “Modern-day service with an old-fashioned feel.” Full service with a staff of 14. Montgomery County’s only ethanol-free fuel, cash/credit same price. After upgrading their 1980s-era pumps circa 2022, they no longer sell regular 87 octane, only 89 & 93. It’s a tight squeeze with 6 pumps under one roof (probably fits 4 cars max). Hours are 7a-7p M-F, 8-6 Sat, closed Sundays. You don’t see too many places like this anymore.

Love this gas station!

This place is the most expensive out of all of the gas stations in this area. During the gas tax holiday, they did not decrease their fuel price (which, at the time, was $4.19 before the tax holiday went into effect). Once the holiday was over, they not only bumped it up the tax rate, but they went way beyond. .70 cent increase per gallon. They are a rip off!

This is a full service station and they were not automated for me to use my Gas Buddy card. I had a full up for $31.60 on a 2012 Kia Soul. That's been the HIGHEST I've ever paid! I'm disappointed because I didn't know that I could enter my receipt & get Gas Buddy Credit. Gas Buddy should NOT include this station for Deals!
