Murphy Express in San Marcos (1201 Highway 80)

This is a brand new service station. It is clean and well lit. There is no car wash. Right now $2.28 is an introductory price, mo idea how long it will last, but is cheapest gas in 2 counties.

I go to this station to get ethanol free 87 octane gasoline. As of this review, its price is 2.79

Warning- Murphy Stations tend to decline cards that have less than 150$, so expect to enter the store…. As well, there may be up to an 75-200$ hold on your card because of this. Just a fair warning to people who don’t enjoy going into gas stations.

I like it here. Easy to get to and isn't typically super busy, and even if it is, it's not bad with all the pumps

This is a well lighted, safe station for nighttime fillings. In an open area, no worries about being bothered for change or gas or food or having your windshield cleaned by an unwanted vagrant.

Station is a good place to stop. Easy in and out to a stoplight. High turnover of staff though.
